Matt Kangas

Matt’s father was a contractor, and at an early age he was helping out on job sites. This passion

grew as he began to learn about the building envelope and the complexities of the construction

trade. His career path has taken him down an interesting road and he is proud of many

accomplishments. Matt's experience inlcudes:

-Building and constructing log homes

-Creating and designing Occupational Health and Safety programs

-Thousands of hours in various training courses such as first aid instructor; Worksafe BC

seminars; CORE recognition program; Safety Construction Network

-Certified forklift instructor for 25 years

-Kitchen designer and Install Coordinator

-An expert at gutter systems and designs

-Managing a multi million dollar building supply store for many years

He particularly loves hiking, camping and being a backyard mechanic. He's been on Vancouver Island for the last 45 years and lives on his hobby farm with his wife and daughter(plus chickens, goats, ducks, dogs and cats!)
